Silly Selfish People

Too often in life we find solitude in our selfishness and try to blame others for their own. I look back on my relationships and the people that I’ve loved and lost and I see the common thread. It was me looking to find my comfort in them when all along they needed me to do the same for them even more. I had a want and they had a need. Yet I can rationalize losing them by saying it was there own fault. Their actions said they didn’t want me or need me anymore. They didn’t because I was never the person or thing they needed. I never showed them how much I needed them. But I didn’t, not really.

Silly how selfish people find other selfish people. Silly how we try to blame those selfish people and they try to blame us. Silly silly. This circle will continue to go round and round.

Silly how much we don’t deserve what we’ve been given. Selfishly so.

For you see, the only thing silly selfish people need is grace from the Jesus who wants them.
